AWC_10 Wine Dinner @ South Pacific Hotel


原本想早兩天把這篇內容 post 上 Blog,無奈公司電腦有問題,運作不暢順,抱歉現在才可完成!

孖寶老師問 3月6 號有沒有時間,參加新一屆進階班第十班同學的畢業酒宴,說當晚的 wines line up 很好。 一看、果然不錯,自己也很想重溫那些酒的風采,還可與新同學打個招呼,便欣然答應了。


這晚熱鬧非常,竟有 38 人參加,是歷屆以來最踴躍的一次。浩浩蕩蕩,開開心心,不知不覺間已是十二時正,如此便興高采烈地渡過了一個 4 小時有多的晚宴。很高興認識了一班新同學仔、新朋友,希望大家繼續在這令人迷戀的葡萄酒世界中有無數的開心聚會,共享美酒佳餚!


Wine of the Night:


Paolo Scavino Langhe Bianco, Piemonte, Italy 2005


Lively yellow in color. Attractive aromas of ripe fruits with a light floral backdrop. The medium bodied palate is refreshing and dry with a pretty solid finish that lingers on for a bit.


Grape Variety: Sauvignon Blanc + Chardonnay


Michel Gros Bourgogne Hautes Cotes de Nuits Blanc, Burgundy, France 2005


Pale yellow color with intense bouquet of ripe mango, pineapple and tropical fruits, laced lightly buttered toasted bread. Balanced palate with great depth of flavors, followed by a solid and lasting finish.


Grape Variety: Chardonnay


Torreon de Paredes Special Family Reserve Don Amado, Rengo, Chile 1999


Intense ruby red with black hues. Very complex bouquet, fine aromas of cassis, blackberries, plums and vanilla, intermingled with menthol and spice notes. At the palate is harmonious, warm, smooth, round with delicate mature tannins that give strength and assure a noble bottle with aging potential.


Grape Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon + Merlot

Mauro Molino Barolo Gancia DOCG, Piemonte, Italy 1999


"The 1999 Barolo Gancia is the most important of the group, the darkest in tone, the most intense, penetrating, smoky, and licorice-laden in aroma, the densest and most voluminous on the palate, though the extract possesses the silky sensuality which characterizes La Morra. The leather, tar, wild fennel and tobacco flavors offer admirable complexity as well. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2018.”91 Points - Robert Parker


Grape Variety: Nebbiolo


Markus Molitor Wehlener Klosterberg Riesling Eiswein, Germany 2001


This Icewine presents a real fruit salad in his bouquet, very ripe and sweet as well as a certain elegant spiciness, which is very typical for an Icewine. In the mouth there is an overwhelmingly clear taste of fruit (apricot) with beginning creamy caramel notes. Still very young, huge potential.


是夜對兩支酒感到有點失望 ~ Don Amado 1999 & Barolo 1999!


感覺早前試的 Don Amado 98 & 99 來得澎湃、熱情,但這支 99 感覺收歛、柔弱,沒有從前的剛烈,感覺不到那複雜性及辛辣香味!


Barolo 1999 更是令我失望,好像完全沒有睡醒。香氣、果味欠奉,風格全無!等了又等才免為其難給你 sayHello,極之不是狀態,跟從前試過的真有天淵之別!


這就是葡萄酒的奧妙及有趣地方,就算同一製造者、同一年份,也會有很大的 bottle variation,各有各的不同變化。


畢竟,當晚也是一個很開心的晚上!

閃爍聖誕東寶夜 ~ 醇酒篇



(1)  Cava Oriol de Vallformosa Brut, Spain


Grape variety: Blend of Parellada & Chardonnay


Yellow straw-color with greenish hints, fine and constant bubbles.


Citric fruit aroma with hints of ripe tropical fruits, delicate, subtle & fine.


Full-bodied taste, creamy, fruity and toasted notes. Round and well balanced.


 


(2)  2004 Diel de Diel (Dry), Schlossgut Diel, Nahe, Germany


Grape variety: Graubergunder, Riesling, Pinot Gris


Yellow straw color. Nose of Burgundian Chardonnay. Palate of crispy, fresh and fruity. Tasted dry.


 


(3)  2002 Paolo Scavino Langhe Bianco, Italy


Grape variety: Blend of Chardonnay & Sauvignon Blanc

(4)  2004 Domaine Sacre Coeur St Chinian Classique Rouge, Languedoc, South of France


A blend of Syrah, Grenache & Carignan


Ruby red color. Ripe fruit nose, slightly spicy, melted tannins and round wine.


 



(5)  2002 Pessac Leognan, Domaine de Chevalier, France


Grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot


Deep purple in color.  Nose of raspberry, red currants, cherries & smoked herbs. Slight spice and liquorice. A delicate, light-styled & medium bodied red, pleasant.



 


(6)  2005 Valter Bera, Moscato d’Asti DOCG, Italy


Grape variety: 100% Moscato blanco


Straw yellow color with sunny reflexions. Aromatic, with delicate flower scent. Sweet, pleasantly acidic. A perfect dessert wine & nice refreshing drink, with delicate & persistent aroma.
