Here we go for this 82 Barolo Night horizontal from six of one of the larger Barolo producers who have incorporated what they consider the best of both styles (traditional vs. modern) in their Barolos -- Marchesi di Barolo. ~~~

2007 Pico Maccario Monferrato Bianco DOC Estrosa, Piemonte



Grapes blend: Chardonnay, Sauvignon blanc & Favorita





Pico Maccario
is located on the hills of Mombaruzzo, Piemonte. The estate covers 70 hectares of vineyards in a single plot, the largest in Piemonte. 80% of the vineyard is dedicated to Barbera varietal.


 


Colour: Straw yellow with light golden garnets


Aroma: Intense with a remarkable delicacy and a pleasant flowered note.


Lively apple flavours with a lingering finish.


 


The name “Estrosa” comes from latin Rosa Est and reminds the symbol of the winery and the location of Monferrato, eastern side of Piemonte.



 





Marchesi di Barolo ~

One of the larger Barolo producers who have incorporated what they consider the best of both styles (Traditional vs. Modern) in their Barolos.



The Cellars of Marchesi di Barolo are located in the village of Barolo, overlooking the castle of the Marquis Falletti.

1982 – Exceptional vintage ~ drinking well now.



A rich wine with a big and complex structure.

Noble aromas that was full and persistent in perfect harmony with complex, velvety and elegant flavors. Undoubtedly a vintage of outstanding longevity.


 


Sarmassa, Valletta and Riserva were the Top of their production at that time.


No more production from Valletta & Brunate nowadays.
